I'm starting a new category entry called, ... it should be obvious by now. Anyway, the idea here is that anytime I see anything being watched (or not, I suppose) or played on the TV, I'll go ahead and throw it on here.
People at whom I bitch regularly know that the quality of film and video game here in my house varies dramatically, and this is an attempt at documenting the banality before I split town.
So what's on the TV?
Nothing, right now. But last night, it was Mech Assault 2.

Hey is MA2 any good? I played MA1 for Xbox at Christina's house and found two things: 1) the control layout was total crap and 2) the multiplayer mode was worthless. I heard that they added a cooperative multiplayer to MA2 which would be nice... any good?
Yeah, actually.
Granted, I'm a giant sucker for anything Battletech related. I remember an EGA or VGA Battletech game (the first MechWarrior, as I remember) that only ever involved single player battles between at most four mechs on a completely flat landscape. The gameplay was terrible but I've spent countless hours blowing legs off of Mechs.
So anything I have to say about MA{1,2} should be taken with a grain of salt.
The graphics in MA2 are damn sweet and features some of the best in-game music I've heard, from the few minutes that I've watched Ken play. The gameplay seems well though-out and engaging, on the same order as ~MechWarrior 3.
I'm not too sure about multiplayer. I seem to remember the multiplay in MA1 not sucking a whole lot, and Ken certainly hasn't ever complained about either that or the control layout. I've got no idea if this cooperative mode you speak of does, in fact, rule.
Seems like a winner, on all accounts, though. I'd hit it.
