To determine Aleph's attitude toward travel, I threw him in the cat carrier and took him to my parents' house in Rio Rancho. Somewhat unfortunately, he cried the entire way up there and was completely hoarse when we arrived.
Thankfully, on the way back, he actually shut up and slept. Amen, I think it's working! I suspect that he's previously associated going in the cat carrier with going to the vet. Since the vet has terribly cold hands, this is probably a negative for him.
Taking Aleph up north was a convenient way to break him of some of this—although I'm not sure how much. Anyway, here's a picture of him at my parents' house. I think this picture is great because it looks like he's bonking his head. He's not, though.
I also noticed that the brakes on my Camry stopped squealing and groaning today. The vintage Camry that I happen to own has a somewhat underengineered brake system, and it's widely reported that the brakes groan like bitches under hard deceleration. It's sortof what I've come to expect from the car—everything will last forever, but it's really only mediocre in use. I almost wish something would fucking break on the car so I have an excuse to replace it with something better.

Well if you change your mind im sure Mr. Lead Pipe and I can have a little "talk" with your breaks. You know my number :)
Just let Ken drive it around for a night; you'll have plenty to replace.
Hahaha, oh that reminds me, what did Ken do to his truck recently ? I saw that you had pics of it in one of your latest folders.
When Ken got all the shit pulled out of his tire today, the guy at the tire place asked, "so what were you doing, spinning out?"
And Ken said, "um, yeah."
