I mentioned earlier that I found a new apartment.

I'm pretty sure I covered most of the details in that post. Just to recap, it's a second-floor 1-bedroom place of 644 ft2 with a washer/dryer, dishwasher, and fireplace.

I've got a bunch of pictures to show you. The thing about photographing the inside of a building with a comparatively narrow-lensed point-and-shoot is that it's almost impossible to actually get everything in the frame. So when you see some of the shots below and you can actually see, for example, the entire kitchen, you should realize that it's actually surprisingly open in some parts of this apartment.

If the apartment was as closed in as you would expect, then all the shots would be pretty cramped.

Enough foreplay. On to the shots!

First, here's the floorplan. Mine is flipped horizontally and I'd flip the picture, but then you couldn't read it. I love the fact that they provided me with an evacuation plan for a 1-bedroom apartment. Telling me, "don't run into the walls" would probably be more helpful.

Bedroom

The bedroom has a nice big window that points towards green trees. Green! Wonderful!

Bathroom

Oddly, the washer and dryer are in a closet in the bathroom. Whatever.

Kitchen

Apart from the Nixon-era appliances, the kitchen is pretty solid. I strongly dislike the overhead flourescents, though, and they have really shitty ballasts in them. I suspect I'm not going to be using them much.

Living room

You can't really tell from the pictures, but the ceiling in the living room is slightly vaulted. And a fireplace—sweet! The view out the balcony is also nice. At least, it's not a parking lot.

Off the balcony

There's a storage unit accessible from the balcony, but it doesn't have a locking door. Odd. And the balcony itself is made from really thin stuff. It looks like concrete, but it sounds like fiberglass. Also odd.

Entryway

The entry is carpeted. Weird. I would have expected concrete.

I also have a covered parking spot, but someone has been parked in it for the last few days. It's actually an Eclipse GSX (which is pretty damned hot—turbo and AWD)...but they need to get the hell out of my spot. If the car is still there the day before my stuff is moved, I'll leave a note.
