I'm going on a recruiting trip to NMT

Yep, that's right. I'm headed to NM to give a talk and pick up resumes for Microsoft.

This all came together as a last minute thing—a couple of other techies who were slated to go had to bail due to work schedules, and I stepped in to fill one of the open slots. Layla had been planning on going from the beginning.

The plan is that Layla will be at NMT on Thursday of next week (the 10th) and I'll be flying in for some stuff on Friday. The schedule that we've got at the moment is:

  • Nov. 10: 3:30pm–5pm Weir 129 Information Session
  • Nov. 11: 2pm–3pm Weir 202 Tech Talk
  • Nov. 11: 3pm–4:30pm Weir 202 Information Session

I'm still in the process of writing the talk and will have a titled posted when I get to that point.

So yes. New Mexico. I'm out of things to say at the moment.

You still coming to NM again in December? I'm going to be in Vienna from December 10th to the 18th and leaving again on the 30th. Maybe I should see if there is any safeguards work to be done in Seattle... Can Microsoft buy the IAEA or something?

What's with the mounties??

Yep—NM in November and December. The plan is to be primarily Socorro and Albuquerque-bound in November, though. But if you, you know, feel like rolling on down next weekend, that'd be awesome.

The mounties come from the obligatory image search for "recruiting."

This is certainly a possibility. I was thinking of climbing the Ladrones that weekend anyway. What's your itinerary like? Staying in town for the weekend?

I think we'll be in Socorro until early Saturday, and then the plan is to head up to Albuquerque sometime during the day. Our flight leaves promptly at 6:02am on Sunday so ... yeah, there goes Sunday.

Where are these Ladrones you speak of?

The Ladrones are the small cluster of sharp mountains you pass on the right between ABQ and Suckorro. They're right by the Sevilleta Wildlife Refuge.

Hrm I'm thinking your schedule and mine don't mesh for that weekend. I'll guess I'll see ya in December.

Damn. That's too bad—I've got a CD full of Matrix Farts that I've been meaning to give to you.
