With some luck, our apartment search is largely over. We left an application and a deposit for a 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath unit (with a ... garage!) up in Kirkland.
The place itself is, in my opinion, a real find—it's a really cool unit tucked in the back of a community up on top of a hill. It's 1202 ft2, which is nearly double the (ahem) 634ft2 of our current apartment...although we think that the 1202 includes the garage. Did I mention it has a garage? Awesome.
It's also fairly near downtown Kirkland, which means upping the commute from ~5 minutes to ~30 minutes, but it also means dropping the distance to anything real like food or entertainment. Right now it's nice being right next to the gym and the office, but I also won't mind being closer to life, too.
