Happy birthday, /dev/null!

It's been an entire year since I launched /dev/null. I originally put it together at Mouser's suggestion as a way for me to relay all the nuttiness that occured when turned from a slacker student into a slacker professional.

Since then, things have gone from being fairly picture free to having images on every post1. My post velocity has dropped severely from my ~10 posts a day down to just over 1 each day—the yearlong average is around 2.15 posts/day. I've tried to limit the rantiness of my posts and have been working on focusing my articles more, especially the automotive ones. And speaking of my automotive articles—it seems that they've largely taken over the content here. I used to be something of a computing megadork (and still am) but since I get that all out of my system at the office, I've been focusing much more on other things.

I've been giving it some thought, and although it had occured to me that now would be a good time to give up my at-least-one-post-each-day rule, I'm going to continue it for at least another year. It's difficult, at times, to actually crank a post out...but it's worth it.

So here's hoping that the next year is going to be as exciting (well, for me, at least) as the last.

1 This is the beginning of the "thumbnailed" posts.
