Two unexpected cars in Kirkland

| | Comments (5)

Layla and I were up in Kirkland today to get breakfast when I spotted this:

I originally though this was some sort of old Noble or Mosler. It turns out Lee Noble has only been selling his own cars for the last seven years or so, but the Mosler guess was right on: this car is a Consulier GTP, built by Warren Mosler's Consulier Industrial company in the mid 1980s. Here's another picture.

These cars came with 2.2L turbocharged Chrysler four-cylinders in them. I don't expect they're supercar road rockets, but they're probably still pretty damned quick and likely turn quite well, too.

Later on, I spotted a Sunbeam Alpine. Coincidental, considering I wrote the collectibles article for it yesterday. It's impossible to see in the photo, but it clearly says Alpine on the side.

Hotness.

Are you still carrying a tiny camera around for quick pics like the ones taken here?

All of these come from the 320x240 camera built into my phone. The CCD sucks and the optics suck.

I carry my Optio around about 1/3 of the time I'm out of the house and not at work. Unfortunately, I didn't have it with me while up in Kirkland.

The Consulier parks at Zurb's apartment complex. We were wondering what the heck kinda car it was. We just assumed it was a cousin of the Batmobile.

That's awesome. Has it been there for long? I find it odd that it's got Florida plates on it.

I think it's been there for at least a year.
