Over six months ago, Manuel and I drove way up north to go check out some dude selling a 1991 Toyota MR2. Hilarity ensued when we actually drove the car—the car drove like the frame was bent and the engine was making double-digit compression. The automatic (yes, automatic) transmission didn't sound terribly healthy but that's OK, because the stereo sounded worse. The whole front end looked like it had been bashed in and the replacement carbon-fiber hood sported a 2" panel gap above the fender. Lovely.
Needless to say, I talked Manuel out of it...but I don't think he needed my encouragement.
Dude wanted something like $5,000 or $6,000 when we looked at it, and it was a total ripoff. You can see the whole gallery here.
So imagine my surprise when I spotted the same damned car on Craiglist a few days ago. Behold, the post (mirror). The picture at the top of this article is Manuel and the MR2. The picture to the right is from the ad.
The hood has been painted or replaced, but the rest of the car seems exactly the same. Curb rash, bad stickers, and yes, the jacked-up front bumper are still on there. This time around, though, senor wants $7,660. Wow.
It definitely looks like someone else bought the car and is reselling it. If things keep going like this, expect to see the car online again next month with a $12k sticker.

This reminds me of a certain jeep that was on sale in some forum....
Oh, indeed.
James found it for sale again on another forum. Looks like someone bought it and was trying to resell it.
That's most excellent. Was it reposted with as much egregious crack as originally?
