After a three-year hiatus, I'm going to get back in the air to finish my private pilot's license. I've finally unblocked the only issue that was holding me back before (i.e., money) and now it's my chance to finish up what I started.
I've wanted to get my license since I was really damned little—I've got a memory of being on a Southwest flight circa 1988 and getting invited up to the cockpit to sit in the co-pilot's seat while the plane was being cleaned somewhere in Arizona (as I remember). I've wanted to fly planes since then...if only in my spare time.
In 2003 I finally got off my ass and blew my savings on my first 30 hours of flight time, which really was all I thought it was going to be. I ran out of money and spare time when school started in August of that year, and I've been waiting since then to get back off the ground.
I plan tomorrow on calling up Crest Airpark, a small field south of Renton which came highly recommended by the guy who owns the shop that works on my car. With some luck, I should be back in the air by next week.

Word, you are going to have a lot of fun.
Be sure to look at the far end of the runway when landing. :)
Runway? I've just been hanging my plane in the electrical lines at the end of every flight.
Looking toward the end of the runway is useful for not getting into Pilot Induced Oscillations, or as I call them, Danny-on-short-finals. :)
I've never had much of a problem bouncing down the runway. I do tend to come in far too hot and flat—any suggestions for fixing that?
Hey, I took that pic.
Hey, you're right.
