That must be a hell of a hole.

So, this is the inside of the Embassy Suites in Aurora, CO where Layla and I stayed for the last two nights. Of interest here is the elevator.

Note that the building is seven stories tall and that the elevator is driven upwards by a big hydraulic ram. You can see the big steel pole pushing the elevator upwards from the floor of the hotel.

This means that someone dug a seven-story hole in the ground to fit that bigass pole, and probably fitted a hydraulic pump way the hell down there to drive this thing all the way back up.

But I realize, it's just an elevator.
