So I found out yesterday that most of my immediate family is coming to visit in a few weeks. I had thought originally this would involve four people (mom, step-dad, two step-siblings) but it turns out this will really be five (+sister). That's an awful lot of people to be crammed into this apartment...even if it is a good deal larger than our last place.
But, it'll be good to take a weekend off and really see the city. I'm guessing the few days they'll be here will be fairly well-packed with sightseeing and other assorted goings-on.
I think I'm going to have to rent a mini-van. Yay.
oh god, anything but a mini van. how about a wagon, maybe a big SUV, or one of those ful sized dodge van things - the kind the chruch field trips use.
Wagons: I wish. American rental car companies aren't that progressive.
Full-size SUV? Gah, what am I, a damned sheep? I'll stick to the mini van, which gets far better gas mileage and has far better odds of keeping me (and all of my relatives) safe in the process.
And yeah, I looked into the full-size vans, but they're nearly twice as expensive to rent as the minis. I don't think the 12-passenger capacity and rubber floor are really worth the added cost.
A wagon would be fine except that there will be 7 of us ... we already have a small SUV that won't fit that many.
I would be fine with a full-sized SUV, but I bet it cost more. Who really cares if you are just renting.
