Alcohol aftermath

First, some background.

Our new house didn't come with a clothes dryer. Technically, a washer was left here—but it's in crap shape and I still don't know if it works because the outlet next to it didn't even work until a few days ago. Additionally, the refrigerator that came with the house inexplicably lacks the racks that keep items from falling off the shelves on the fridge door, thereby making a big chunk of its space completely useless.

In the face of a filthy and inoperative washing machine, a nonexistant dryer, and a refrigerator without much usable space, Layla and I went shopping.

We ended up with a new front-loading washer and dryer, and an awesome new bottom-drawer refrigerator, thereby remanding the existing frige to backup duty out in the garage.

Well, now that our party is over, we've restocked the main fridge with day-to-day stuff and have moved all of our beer out into the garage. This is what it looks like.

It actually makes me a little naseous still, because I had to, err, evacuate some ambient alcohol from my system earlier this morning. But nevertheless, there's still a lot of beer left, and I'm not sure how I'm going to deal with it all given the temporary moratorium on regular drinking imposed by my weight-loss program.

My overestimation of the amount of beer to be consumed didn't help things much, either. There are 26 individual beers left in this fridge, from an initial buy of 59 items. Bummer.

Won't someone come and drink this all for me?

have you tried the Bridgeport Beer town Brown?

Can you guys get New Belgium up there?

Raven-
Nope—is it any good? The Brigdeport IPA wasn't particularly popular, but it is the wrong time of year for it.

Rob-
Yeah, we can get New Belgium, but the selection isn't quite as good as in New Mexico, and I've sortof lost my taste for a lot of it. I can't remember seeing anything New Belgium at any recent parties I've been to.

Well, New Belgium has had a number new beers that I think are rather tasty. Current favorites are Springboard and 2 Below. Check 'em out if you get a chance.

Good to know! I'll definitely crack into those once I finish with the, uhh, fridge.

Just a tip from a native. If you're out in a bar, try Manny's. They're local (Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle) and they only do kegs of beer. I find it most excellent. Kind of an "every-mans" micro-brew.

Truesus-
I haven't had Manny's—but it's definitely at the top of my list of things to try next time I'm out. Thanks for the suggestion!

ive been meaning to do a beer review post... but i'm not sire i'm critcal enough, i.e. I tend to like it. What do you think?

BTW Beer town brown is 10x better than the bridgprt ipa. As much as I like IPA I'm anti-brigeprt ipa.

Raven-
Absolutely, positively go for it. Remember that even the best beers have something that sucks about them.

And I'll definitely be tending more toward the Beer Town Brown than the IPA in the future.

I'm sure if you twist our arms a little, we'd help you drink it!

w00t! arm->twist();
