The Mercedes has left the parking lot

| | Comments (4)

I haven't driven the Mercedes in at least two months. At all.

And I haven't seriously moved it (more than a handful of parking spaces) since the last major snowstorm we had.

Since the lease at our townhouse is officially up on Monday, Layla and I trucked up to Kirkland, jump-started the Mercedes, and drove it back home. Oh, and we stopped for sushi.

Beyond a dead battery and a tire being about 10psi low, the car is still in fantastic shape and ran really smoothly the entire home. It puffed a little bit of smoke on startup but otherwise it's still got the silky-smooth power and ride.

Given Mercedes-Benzes recent track record for reliable automobiles, I'm really surprised.

Nice dude. I was about to blog about something very similar, as I just took my Mustang for a spin, which hadn't happened in a while. It reminded me how badly I need to put an exhaust on it, since the previous one was completely removed to make way for the ladder bar suspension.

was it Layla who bought the merc?

PLEASE TELL ME IF YOUR 250 HAS A DUAL CARBURETOR, ALSO HOW IS THE GAS MILAGE?

PARIS

Hi Paris-
Yes, my 250 had dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors.

I never measured the mileage, but I estimate it got around 20mpg.
