We got our new trash cans today. The big blue bin on the left is for recycling. The tiny grey one on the right is for bona-fide trash.
And we're awaiting a third specifically for compost and lawn waste. I've never seen a suburb so serious about getting people to recycle. In fact, you'll get fined if you put too many recyclables in the trash.
Hoorah for less landfill!
P.S. So uhh, unbeknownst to me, Layla specifically ordered the tiny trash can. But you know, environment and all that.

Sounds like Germany to me, which is a good thing in this case.
Oddly, there seems to be no international standard for can-coloring. In Germany, it's Yellow for recycling-esque, Brown for compost and Black for bona-fide.
Recycling-esque, because paper and glass go into containers in the neighborhood rather than one for each house. I sure like the simplicity here.
Well, maybe we can put everything into one big recyclying container because we've got unskilled workers we need to employ in our sorting facilities.
