Things I've broken in the last 24 hours:
- The mini-USB cable to my USB hub. This is acceptable—I've got a million of these little cords.
- My wireless keyboard. I dropped it on the floor, and the batteries appear to have been leaking acid all over the connectors for months. I had to tear the entire thing apart to clean the connectors of caked battery acid. Sandpaper wasn't even enough to get them clean—I had to bust out the Dremel (which is sortof broken).
- Input 2 on my old Sony upright speakers. These things are ancient (9 years?) and have taken serious beatings. But now, I've only got one audio input, which is even more inconvenient than having only two. Oh, and the power cord isn't in fantastic shape, so if I ever move them it takes some trial-and-error rearranging to get them to power up.
- The file server. At some point in rearranging the harddrives to install Windows Home Server, I forgot to unplug the main power while I reinstalled a PCI IDE controller. The machine was off (so PCI was fine) but I raked the card edge across the motherboard and smelled lots of smoke. I'm still trying to fix this one.
This last one, in particular, is a serious problem since I'm trying to preserve my data while moving hard drives into the Windows Home Server logical volume pool. So far, it's been a serious pain in the butt.

Science. What is it all about? Tech-mology. What is that all about? Is it good or is it wack?
I has this friend who is hagainst techmology completely. If youz don't believe me, youz can check it out on his website, yo.
