Manuel had his Miata over the other day and happened to park it next to the 914. What's surprising is that they're almost identically sized.
At least, they are according to my eyeballs and Wikipedia. So that's practically no guarantee at all.

I can safely vouch they are awfully similar in size. Quite strange actually. Seating in the 914 is _much_ lower to the ground though.
Thanks for the jump btw, turns out something is wrong with the electrical system in the Miata as the battery didnt have any charge when I tried to start it about a half hour later. Auto-Logic will have to work their magic.
Hey, at least the problems with the GTI were resolved (that same day!) which prompted me to use the Miata in such inclement weather seasons anyhow. Turns out the extreme noises coming from the brakes were just some glazing over the rotors which got resolved by _actually using the brakes_. Relief and at least one car operable...
The GTI?
Yes, I own a rather pedestrian VW GTI 2008. It's become my daily driver during the rain season, during the summer that being the 95 Miata.
Funny you'd call it pedestrian. I have an '07 Rabbit that I don't find to be slow or dull in the least bit. I'd imagine the extra power in the GTI would only help in this department.
Have you considered sport springs and/or a chip tune? I'd recomend H&R sports for a nice mild drop, I've helped to install them on my car as well as a few GTI's and they make a world of difference on the looks department.
Hehe, it certainly was the most pedestrian of the three choices I was debating, the other two being the Mazdaspeed3 and the 3.2L Audi A3. (the Audi has more power, but feels like driving a boat, the MPS has the most annoying 6-speed shifter which is wayyyy notchy and the interior was a nice compromise)
I have considered the chip tune, I hadnt thought about the springs... overall I am very happy with it. I enjoy the DSG immensely with 'D' being my "pedestrian" option and 'S' definitely meaning "Spass" ahem "Sport"-mode.
