National symbols and roadkill

| | Comments (2)

Earlier today on a run, Layla and I spotted a Bald Eagle surrounded by about a dozen crows fly across an arterial road (and over a bus stop), pick up some roadkill (dead squirrel, perhaps) and then fly off.

This is one of the first Bald Eagles I've ever seen in the "wild," or in a 35mph zone. It was really really big. And close—less than 100ft away.

Fitting we saw it today.

The size of those things can be VERY daunting. Eagles are humorous for snatching ankle-biters from little old ladies.

Those eagles probably make giant eagle craps bigger than those dogs.
