Seattle is fairly far north. Not like, Iqaluit north, but pretty far up there.
The first thing that probably comes to mind when you think "north" and "daylight" is that the winters must be comparatively dark. This is true.
The second thing that probably comes to mind is that the summers have late nights. This also true.
But past that, it's also true that the summers have really early mornings, which means noisy cats at 6am and entirely too much daylight pouring in the windows. Not so awesome.

You're lucky! My cat is up at 4am... must remedy...
Aleph has started this thing where he tries to climb on the windowsill once it gets light out. This is a problem since we've got big wooden blinds, and Aleph is fat.
A spray bottle by the bed has helped that part of the problem.
