Those of you who have used a laptop with a pointing stick have probably noticed that occasionally, the cursor will (infuriatingly) drift in a direction you're not pushing the stick.
It turns out that these pointers correct their own drift, but only if you take your finger off the stick. I didn't realize this for the first few years I used these things.
