The phrase, "I pay your salary" being shouted back to the cop as he tightens the handcuffs has got to be therapeutic for both people involved.

Except, I wonder how many people that shout said words are not paying taxes for one reason or another.

True. In Washington, it's difficult to avoid paying the police's salaries--except to not pay your property taxes (required if you have a mortgage) and to not buy ... anything.
