Japanese toilet technology is years ahead of ours

...although, I was expecting far more automation from the commode in my hotel room.

The automatic unit is actually strapped onto the top of the toilet (it's not built in) and it only features two extra functions, both of which involve shooting water at parts of your body that don't receive that much attention from toilets in other parts of the world.

Also, sitting down on the seat causes the pumps and siphons inside this "accessory" churn for a good 15 seconds as it prepares a watery blast, in case it's requested.
