I don't really like working on brakes. Actually, it's the fluid that I don't like—brakes on their own are comparatively really tame.
I can't get the brake line detached from the flange on the front-right strut tower on the 914 without uncoupling the brake lines. If I can't get this line unhooked, I can't remove the caliper, which means I can't remove the disc, which means that I can't replace the wheel bearings.
So for the last few nights I've been putting off dealing with this since I really don't want to unhook the lines and have to bleed the whole system later. And really, if I'm going through the trouble of bleeding everything, I should flush the fluid out, and I really don't want to flush and bleed the system.
I suppose it could be worse. It could be transmission fluid.

I will never do my own brake job again. Perhaps I was doing it wrawng.
Great jorearb!
No really I'm dreading having to deal with this. Maybe I'll just Dremel off the part that's causing the problems instead.
Yea, I wasn't winning any races so I took the brakes off my racer.
Phil, you were doing it wrong. You were trying to push the caliper back in with a pair of channel locks.
