Election results by county

After all of the state-by-state images we see during the election, it's interesting to get this full county breakdown of the 2008 general presidential election.

I'm particularly interested in the belt of blue cascading through the southern states. How weird.

It's interesting how the correlation of urban=democrat and suburban/rural=republican is shown by this. Even the "traditional" red states are showing this trend, but especially Oregon also. Weird Oregonians.

Absolutely. Cities give their inhabitants lots of perspective but little reality.

The country gives people lots of reality but little perspective.

It's an oversimplification, but it seems to hold.
