Apparently shifting into 2nd gear on Ford C6 transmissions will cause it to lock completely into that gear, even when moving at speeds when 1st is typically selected (and when accelerating from a stop).
I wish I had known this when it was snowing a few weeks ago. That would have been incredibly helpful.
