Well, the battery is dying. As far as I can tell, there's nothing wrong with the rest of the phone.
I'm torn because I'm always down for new toys, but I'm also not particularly interested in smartphones—the net effect is that I'd sortof like a new phone that makes reasonable calls. But I'm not actually motivated because the phone isn't actually dead.
So I'll probably eek along for another month or two with a battery that sucks, and will either buy a new battery or another cheap sliding phone. I guess I'm just not that into phones.

Are you up for a new phone/free upgrade? If so I say do it.
From the comment stream on your last post about smartphones it seemed you were actually seeing the benefits and interested in getting one... maybe I misread you.
I'd sorely miss mine, but could live without. Internet everywhere is just too darn handy.

Not quite yet. It'll be another six months.

True, but having calendar info isn't enough to send me over the edge. I have yet to find a phone that has a decent browser and works well as a phone—so there's no incentive to eat the cost of a data plan.
Plus, I'm almost always around a wifi connection.
