I was kicked out of my office today for the move so ... I went snowboarding.
The conditions today were awful. The temperature came up and the rain came down, and the powder all turned to slush. The only thing worse than slushy snow is concrete snow. But whatever—I spent about two hours on the slopes before calling it a day because I was completely drenched.
On my way down the hill, I was stopped in my tracks by an avalanche that had cascaded completely across the road. It came down a few minutes before I left the ski area. So I went back to the bar at the lodge.
About two hours later, the Department of Transportation temporarily opened a rift in the avalanche to clear out the traffic, but they've since closed the pass again.
Fun.
Update: looks like the avalance made the evening news.

Thats a lot of Subarus.
Official car of ski dweebs everywhere.
Audis are way more common around the Microsoft campus, but up on the slopes, the Subarus win out.
