Back in business

Using c-clamps to compress my brake pistons took about 90 seconds for each one. Contrast this with the 90 minutes I spent trying to ram them in with levers and force. Screw that.

Of course, once I got everything put back together, I realized the battery had died while the car was sitting in the garage. An hour of using my standlone charger and jumping it with the truck resulted in the realization that the crappy barely-year-old battery from Wal*Mart that came with the car had crapped itself a month out of warranty.

Really. Read the battery. Manufactured in December of 2007, with a one year warranty.

I bought a replacement Autolite which is, disappointingly, the same battery with different stickers on it. Whatever. This one comes with an 84-month warranty.

In any event, it's great to have the car functional again. After driving the truck for a few months the difference in height is really astounding. It's like driving a go-kart.

Good thing I bought new brake pads was the previous entry in this blog.

A Conti GTC tried to race me earlier is the next entry in this blog.
