Akula akula

This is a great set of shots from outside and inisde a Soviet Typhoon submarine (called Akula by the Soviets—not to be confused with the other Soviet submarine NATO called Akula).

Really interesting stuff, including photos of the space between the light hull and the pressure hull—and some of the goofy 1980s Soviet interior design. And leather moustache man. You'll know which shot I'm talking about when you get to it.

I won't spoil this one with Red October jokes.

I clicked on the link before reading all of your post, and as I looked at the size of the thing all I could think was "it would take forever to do a Crazy Ivan in this thing." So, sorry if I spoiled it with a Red October joke.

Let's get it all out of our systems now.
