I'm, uhh, looking for a new camera and have to write off all Olympus and Sony models up front since those manufacturers are still attached to their goofy one-off flash card formats.
It's too bad, since those seem to be the two largest makers of point-and-shoot cameras with internal lens mechanisms.

it depends on what you're looking for but i personally love my little camera (canon powershot). i wish it could zoom more than it does but the pics it takes have great detail and the camera powers up really fast for those 'quick! take a pic!' moments. i'm not very savvy so it might have a flash card, i just use the USB cable...
I think you've got an SD1100 IS—those are pretty slick, although I would probably go with the SD880 (the successor to my now-smashed 870) as the wider lens is an absolutely killer feature. I think the SD1100 (and 1200) have ~36mm-equivalent lenses.
But avoiding the telescoping lens housing would be ideal, which is what all those Sony and Olympus models offer. I found one Panasonic that may work but am having a difficult time finding one locally to manhandle.

I bought a 36mm lens adaptor and wide angle lense for my powershot. By no means does the resulting camera fit in your pocket - but its great for car shows and/or taking pictures of car parts. and if i want a camera that fit in my pocket it snaps off in miliseconds.
Hey, can you help me make an autorun file for a CD? I want to put a song on a cd and have it start when you put the cd in the computer. I was thinking it would be an "autorun.inf" file with this as text:
[autorun]
open = xxxxx.mp3
It doesnt seem to work. I am thinking I need to tell it to open windows media player and then run the mp3. I am just not sure how to do that.
Nevermind, I got it.
Oh OK. One thing to note is that some corporate IT administrators disable autorun for all PCs in their company. I recall this group policy setting is particularly popular.
