I got this today as a replacement for my smashed Canon SD870 IS. It's a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 (also DMC-FT1 outside the US) ruggedized point-and-shoot camera. It's got a wide lens (28mm equivalent if shooting on 35mm film), the usual mess of features, and an entirely internal lens mechanism. Oh, and it's green.
So far so good—it's a little bulkier than the Canon but a little lighter. The shooting options are properly arranged, the configuration menu makes sense, and it certainly appears to take decent photos.
Time will tell if it can sustain the abuse I'm sure to throw at it.

What do you think of the camera so far? I kind of want something waterproof when my sd1000 dies (whenever that might be)
It's total hotness. I've only had a handful of issues with it so far:
* Panasonic has chips built into their batteries, so you can't use non-OEM batteries.
* Videos sometimes end up looking dark and underexposed, particularly in low light.
* It's a little large. Not problematically large, but may be bigger than the competition.
There are a lot of killer features on it. Also, the menus are all laid logically and let me change options quickly.
